Trex Challenge Collection

Bring us your plastic bags!

The Trex Challenge is a synagogue-wide effort to collect thousands of plastic bags that would otherwise go into landfills and waterways to be turned into sustainable outdoor materials. If we collect more than 500 pounds of plastic bags and plastic film in a six-month span (about 40,500 plastic bags), Trex will donate a high-performance composite bench to our synagogue. It’s a win-win for Congregation Kol Ami and for Trex!

*Here’s what Trex will accept: grocery bags, bread bags, case overwrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, wood pellet bags, Ziplock & other re-sealable bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, salt bags and cereal bags. Please, only those items. All materials must be clean, dry and free of food residue.

Watch your synagogue emails for future drop-off dates and times.

For more information or to volunteer to help, please contact Mark Pinzur or Marlene Dworkin.
