Talmud Talks

Every week on Tuesdays
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Spring session: May 14 – June 11

Interested participants may join at any time throughout the series!

If the Jewish tradition can be compared to a house, the Torah is the foundation and the Talmud is the framework – the walls, doors, windows, rafters, and roof.  The rest of our spiritual and cultural heritage is the décor, the furnishings, and an occasional addition or renovation or repair. Therefore, to understand how our Jewish home is built and how we can best live in it, we need a basic understanding of the Talmud.

In this weekly course, we will introduce or reintroduce the Talmud and related literature to those who wish to explore this fundamental part of our Jewish heritage.  Talmud Talks will look at selected Talmudic texts that will introduce us to the joys of studying the Talmud.  All are welcome to join us in this exploration.  We will study the Talmud in English translation so that all can participate in the mitzvah of Talmud study.

Rabbi Lewis John Eron, PhD., leads our weekly discussions via Zoom.
