First Thursdays: An Evening of Remembrance

An Evening of Remembrance: A Holocaust Story of Survival and Triumph
Presented by Ed Skobac

Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 pm (Hybrid)

In observance of Yom Hashoah/Holocaust Memorial Day, Ed Skobac, Steve Janove and David Janove will offer a presentation about Ed’s father, William, who survived the Holocaust alone in the forests of Poland, and then, taking on the identity of a gentile, lived on a farm with a farmer who supported the Nazis.

The presentation will include a video interview of William, who tells stories about the randomness and miracle of his survival, describing life in the Ghetto and his experience later in the war when he was arrested by Russian troops who believed William was a spy for the Germans.  The presentation will also include a description of the Treblinka concentration camp, where William’s family perished, followed by a video of William’s visit to Treblinka 50 years after the war.

No cost for congregants; $15/person for non-members.
Registration required (coming soon). Everyone is welcome.
