Climate Change: Ways We Can Make a Real Difference!
The Kol Ami Social Action and Adult Education Committees, in conjunction with Temple Beth Shalom in Brigantine, NJ, will sponsor an evening on Climate Change with Rabbi Ed Rosenthal, Lauren Fisher, Nancy Kirlin and Murray Rosenberg.
Rabbi Ed Rosenthal has led hundreds of Jewish communities around the world in hands-on ocean restoration programs, beach cleanups, citizen science surveys, and more. Rabbi Rosenthal will address ways in which the Jewish community can live a more consciously connected sustainable and impactful life to protect the environment. Rabbi Rosenthal will speak about the 2023 Worldwide Reverse Tashlich event happening September 10.
Lauren Fisher is the Host of the award-winning TIL (Today I Learned) Climate Podcast that addresses the science and policies behind climate change, how it is impacting us and what we can do about it. Lauren will introduce us to her podcast and speak about what she has learned from renowned experts on climate as to specific actions we can take to make a difference.
Nancy Kirlin manages a recycling center and will address how best to keep plastic out of the ocean and landfills.
Murray Rosenberg, a coastal geologist, will address the status of the rising ocean at the Jersey shore.
