Pirkei Avot: What We Can Learn About Social Responsibility
Pirkei Avot – What We Can Learn from Our Sages About Social Responsibility
Led by Rabbi Jennifer Frenkel
Monday, April 21 at 7:30 pm (Hybrid)
There is a Jewish custom during the Omer – the seven-week period between the holiday of Passover and the holiday of Shavuot – to study Pirkei Avot (the Wisdom of our Sages), an ancient Jewish code of ethical behavior and good conduct. Pirkei Avot is among the most well-known of all writings in Rabbinic Judaism, and, in this class, we’ll take a practical and relevant approach to studying this classic text, as we examine the wisdom of Pirkei Avot through the lens of social justice and social action.
This session is offered at no cost for congregants and $10 for non-members.
Registration is required (coming soon).
