Understanding a Divine Presence Through Metaphor
Led by Catherine Fischer
Three Wednesdays, February 15 & 22, and March 1
This series is for anyone who is interested in increasing their awareness of the sacred. Our tool for discerning the Divine will be metaphor. The primary resource will be a book entitled, God Is Here: Reimagining the Divine, by Rabbi Toba Spitzer. Together, over the course of three sessions, we will study several metaphors and, together, share an understanding of a Divine presence in our daily lives. It is not necessary to purchase or read the book, but of course you are welcome to do that.
A member of Congregation Kol Ami, Catherine is the principal at Sacred Practice (https://www.sacred-practice.com), an organization striving to bring the sacred into every aspect of synagogue life. Catherine worked for 20 years strengthening community engagement for the Reform movement, the Philadelphia Federation, and Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Philadelphia.
No cost for congregants. $10/session for non-members.
Registration is required to receive Zoom information.
